Action Analysis:
(opening two minutes)
(The amazing Spiderman )
The films starts with a dark screen and upbeat music and then you get a close up of the Spiderman sign, this is effective because it shows that the film is about him and he is going to be the main character. You get a birds eye view of the town on either sides of Spiderman and you see his body falling down to the ground which already would make the audience on the edge of their chairs and show it is an action genre. All of a sudden he attaches his web to another building and swings he says 'wooohooo' this shows that what he is doing is a joke to him and he does it on a regular basis. You then get a long shot of Spiderman falling down towards the camera, this would make the audience on the edge of their chair and scared to know what is going to happen next. He then does all these tricks which again shows he is experienced and is having a great time with what he is doing. The music is diegetic sound as it is meant to fit in with the action.
You hear voices and then you see two helicopters in the sky. 'The mission is on!' This shows to Spiderman is ready to do the mission and nothing can stop him. You can see the power he expresses just in his movement from swinging on his web from one building to the other. There you see a long shot of the a truck going though the town and in the distance you here sirens. The truck isn't letting anything get in the way of it and the driver is a stereotypical person who looks like he would commit a crime- bald, fat, big and sweaty. Whilst he is driving he is shouting and laughing which suggests to the audience he is aggressive and doesn't care about anything but himself, he also has a tattoo over his forehead which looks like barbed wire which shows he trying to show he is powerful and he can handle pain. If a car gets in the way he just drives over it which again shows his aggression to the audience. There is then a fast side shot of all the vehicles and people climbing on top of them with guns trying to either stop him or are with him but the audience at this point wont be able to work it out.
Two police cars are either side of him and slightly in front which may suggest they have him covered and will be able to stop him, but because of the character he is and doesn't care he just drives straight over one of them and smashes the side of it because it is such a big vehicle. Again Spiderman shows how powerful he is because of the actions he is doing, as he quickly falls to he ground it would make the audience nervous, the way they have edited it is very clever as they make him go into slow motion as he is going down which brings tension to it. The audience shout 'Spiderman' showing he is a well known hero in the town
