Certificate Research:
The 15 certificate is given this age rating because the British Board of film classification state that is in their opinion that if a film is not suitable for the ages under 15 then they should not be watching it. This can include films, video recording, or game which should not be seen or purchased by anyone under the age of 15 years old.
The reason this is a good age range for games and films is because it has a big audience because children under the age of 15 would most likely be too scared to watch a horror film and may not enjoy it where as 15 years plus would.
For my film i have chosen to use this age range as the certificate age group because i think it gives the film more of an opportunity to be watched. I believe if i put it in the 18 category then it would be restricted from a bigger audience, also i am not making the film that horrific so it will be suitable for a 15 year old.
