My initial idea for my opening two Minutes is a horror genre. I am aware of many codes and conventions of the genre and am looking to incorporate those into my opening two minutes. My possible narrative that I would hope to reveal in the opening includes a young girl on the way home from school, with the scene she is being followed. As she goes on she discovers that she is being watched and gets even more scared as the scene carries on. The scene will end with the girl being kidnapped by the unknown man who has been following her, and the leave an enigma for the audience to keep them on the edge of their seats. My opening two minutes will be set in the middle of a forest to build tension and will lead to a main road when reaching to the climax. I hope to film during the late afternoon towards the evening in order to create a mysterious and scary atmosphere. Possible main characters wish to include are a young girl who will be known as the victim of the film, and an antagonist who will be older boy or a young man.

Codes and conventions will include a young girl who is victim and we will show this when we use diegetic sound when she is walking through the woods listening to music and not being able to hear what else is going on. The man- antagonist will be shown as a scary character this will be shown through tension which will happen when he follows the girl slowly.



The possible setting will be set in a forest/woods the main character who is going to walking home from school will be walking through there. The audience are going to see that the girl is putting herself in danger and will be concerned to what is happening. It will be filmed in the afternoon to the early evening 2-5pm. The woods is set by a main road which will make it seem more dramatic.


The characters involved in this are going to be a victim who is a school girl which suggests she is more innocent. The antagonist is going to be male and s going to be scary giving an eerie effect. The school girl who is the main character, look frightened and make the audience aware to what is happening.
Props we will contain in our film pitch will include School books and bag this will represent that this young victim will be a school girl and she is more venerable.
We will also include earphones to help with the diegetic sound for the audience.
The antagonist which is the older man will be will be holding a bad that will shortly be placed over the victims head and a gun that is kept under his blazer.


Opening camera shots will include long shots of the forest and victim walking off
medium shots recognising the victim, close ups to facial expressions to show emotion and see what the characters are feeling, long shots to notice the man in the background, close up of the feet walking through the leaves and two shots including victim and antagonist. Suggested Mis- en- scene will include low key lighting which horrors generally contain, this will make the opening scene more frightening for the audience to watch.
